General Design Features

valve design specs

Because the dual seal, namely Teflon gasket and metal touch, is used at the connection of the body and the adaptor, the sealing effect is maintained even when the Teflon gasket burns out. Hence, leakage is prevented (see Fig 3.)

The spring provided on the stem allows the static charges to be led to the piping (see Fig 1.)

All Nicro Pump & Valve Ball Valves are manufactured and tested in accordance to BS6755 part 2 fire safe test, incorporating the technical content of API Standard 607 and API specification 6FA.

The anti-blow-out stem inserted from the inside of the body. Should the stem packing burn out in the case of fire, then stem locks against the body preventing the stem being blown out which minimises leakage (see Fig 2)

All Nicro Pump & Valve Ball valves are manufactured with flanges, conforming to BS, ANSI and SABS standards. Other flange diameters and drilling are available on request.

These are available in virgin PTFE (Polytetra Fluoroethylene), glass, ceramic and graphite filled PTFE.
For specialised applications, metal to metal seats are available. The Seals and Seats institute are tested to 1½ times their recommended working pressure.

Reduced port valves are manufactured to class 150 and class 300. Full port and Wafer valves are manufactured from class 150 to class 1500.

The optional locking device ensures two-position key lock (full open, full closed)
